The Meteorological Manifesto

Flying in mountainous and high-altitude terrain demands an accurate understanding of the atmosphere. Aero & Altitude explains the physics behind density altitude, mountain wind patterns and airframe icing, so that pilots and students can recognise when conditions demand caution.

We do not replace official weather information, flight training or the aircraft's own performance data. Our role is to explain the principles clearly and to point readers to the sources they must use for real decisions.

Every figure on this site is either a standard reference value or an explicitly labelled approximation. Where the evidence or the regulation is more complex than a summary can capture, we say so.
